Forgot to add some new places we went to last week:
– Peak's Frozen Custard – soooo good! Leah wrote a review on Yelp. We will be back for sure, if not just to try the custard with espresso.
– Crepe Cafe and Wine Bar – very cute little place that has sweet and savory crepes. I love that they leave a carafe of water at the table. I had the boeuf bourguignon and gruyer in a buckwheat crepe and Leah had the chicken, pesto and goat cheese crepe. Both were delicious!
– Henry's Bento – went here for lunch with Anne, Mindy and AJ the other day. Despite the name and the "Taiwanese Sushi" signs, it's not Japanese at all and I think the 'sushi' they refer to is just the taiwanese-syle dim sum. I got the beef noodle soup, which was fantastic. It was huge, with fettuccine
-like noodles and big fatty tender chunks of beef with a very slightly spicy broth and some baby bok choy. It's really a hole in the wall place and there are no menus, just posterboards on the wall, 95% in chinese, so you kind of need someone there to help you order, unless you know what you want already.
Today we also tried a new place for lunch, Guanaco's Tacos Pupuseria in the U-District. It was super cheap and super good, I really want to go back and try more stuff. Everything we had was really really good!
